Info: Once a year, on the second Sunday in June, the Haight-Ashbury community hosts a special celebration and everyone in the World is invited. Music is in the air; people dance in the streets; a festive atmosphere springs up; and Haight Street, once again, becomes the center of Peace, Love and Happiness. This annual event is the Haight-Ashbury Street Fair, one of the most highly anticipated public events in San Francisco.
The 34th Annual Haight-Ashbury Street Fair will be taking place on Sunday, June 12, 2011, from 11 am until 5:30 pm. A variety of activities will be taking place including three stages offering live entertainment; a six-block Vending Area featuring arts & crafts, food and other merchandise; an area dedicated to the entertainment of families with children; and an opportunity to celebrate with many other like-minded people.

Red Vic Movie House Benefit @ 2011 HASF
RED VIC MOVIE HOUSE BENEFIT - This year, during the Haight St. Fair, the movie house will be transformed into the Red Vic Music Hall!! Take a break from the street action and check out some great jug bands, brought to you by our neighbors, The California Jug Band Association. Their mission is "to promote, encourage, foster, and cultivate the preservation, appreciation, understanding, enjoyment, support, and performance of jug band music as an original American musical art form; other genres of music similar in style and execution including, but not limited to, jook, hokum, spasm, skiffle, washboard, and medicine show music are also within the interest scope of the CJBA."
Children's Alley
Come join us for free family entertainment and activities in the Children’s Alley at the Haight and Ashbury Street Fair on Sunday June 12th.
Free kids crafts: Mad Hatter Hats, Hippy Headbands, and Drums;
Exotic petting zoo, jump house, bookmobile with story time, tumbling
obstacle course for kids, circus workshops including juggling and
stilt walking, face-painting and a whole lot more!

12:55-1:15pm: Ben and Jerry’s Ice-cream Eating Contest (Sign ups the day of
1:30-2:15: Acro Sports: Contortionists, Break-dancers and advanced tumblers
2:30-3:15: Magical Moonshine Theater: A participatory performance
where audience members (children and adults) are invited up on stage
to help put on the performance.
3:30pm-4:15pm: The Monkey Butts Band
4:15-4:30 Poster Contest winner and runner-ups announced
